     DESCRIPTION

New Page 1

The model A4442 On-off / Proportional Process Controller is available for a variety of industrial inputs and generates a control output with either an on-off with hysteresis or time proportional control algorithm. The outputnis used to control the process.

The process value is conditioned and converted to a digital value by an A/D converter. This is read by a microprocessor to to compare it with a set value. The control algorithm can be on-off with programmable hysteresis or with variable duty cycle in the proportional control mode. In the alarm mode, the output is set by the process value being higher, lower or deviating from the set point. The acknowledge key resets the alarm.

The auxiliary output can be used either as an alarm, or timer or configured for cooling control. The alarm has special functions like Hold, Latch and Latch & Hold. When used as a timer, it can be triggered either manually or automatically on crossing the setpoint. The upper limit & minimum off-time protects compressors.

All parameters are protected from unauthorised changes by password protection and keypad lockout. The non volatile memory is used to store all parameters.
